Overview

Bracket Genius ("the App") is a bracket exploration and competition platform operated by Bracket Race Ltd ("we," "us," or "our"). The App offers anonymous bracket browsing as well as account-based interactive features. This policy describes what information is collected and how it is handled.

Information We Collect

Anonymous Authentication

The App uses automatic anonymous sign-in via Google Firebase Authentication for browsing features. No email address, password, or display name is collected for anonymous browsing. An anonymous account is created automatically when you first open the app.

Account Creation

To participate in interactive features such as King of the Hill, you may create an account. When you create an account, we collect your email address, a display name you choose, and a password (which is hashed by Firebase and not stored in plain text). This information is used for authentication and game participation.

Game Data

When you participate in King of the Hill or other bracket games, we store your bracket predictions, bracket claims, and prediction history. This data is associated with your user account.

User-Generated Content

If you post public comments, those comments are visible to all users and are associated with your display name.

Device Identifier

We collect a device identifier (Apple's Identifier for Vendor) to maintain the integrity of your session. This identifier is used for account integrity purposes and is not used for advertising or cross-app tracking.

Automatically Collected Information

The App uses Google Firebase for authentication and data storage. We have disabled Firebase Analytics and advertising features. We do not collect analytics events, crash reports, or advertising identifiers. Firebase services may process technical information such as IP addresses as part of normal infrastructure operation. Google's standard data processing terms apply to data handled by Firebase services.

How We Use Your Information

Anonymous session data and device identifiers are used solely to operate the App and maintain session continuity. Account information (email, display name) is used for authentication and to identify you within the game. Game data (bracket predictions, claims) is used to operate interactive features. We do not use this information for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond app functionality.

Data Sharing

We do not sell or share your information with third parties for marketing purposes. Your display name and public comments are visible to other users within the App. Google Firebase processes data as part of normal infrastructure operation.

Data Retention and Deletion

You can delete your account from within the App at any time. Account deletion removes your personal data (email, display name), bracket claims, comments, and associated content. Historical bracket and prediction data may be retained in anonymized form. Anonymous accounts older than 30 days are automatically deleted.

Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13. Account creation requires an email address. If we learn that a child under 13 has provided personal information, we will delete that information promptly.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page with a revised effective date.
